Flavored green tea

January 22, 2026

In addition to the improved taste, the process of processing the leaves to obtain tea infusion (developed during the Ming Dynasty) allowed the addition of numerous elements – usually spices, pieces of fruit or teas from other regions – and thus tea blends appeared. During the same period, various flowers began to be used to flavor teas – a manifestation of the Ming Dynasty’s predilection for flowers outside of poetry and art. Although tea masters used – among others – roses, magnolias, osmanthus and lychees, the most popular was (and still is) jasmine, which further enhanced the sweetness of the drink, fueling the passion for tea. We are waiting for you at Sakura to enjoy China Jasmine tea, a naturally fragrant green tea, originating from Fujian Province. It is the classic version with natural jasmine fragrance, a savory infusion with an intense floral aroma. This tea is naturally flavoured by adding fresh, unopened jasmine buds. During the drying process, the buds open and release their flavour onto the tea leaves, which are then removed from the mixture. 30–50 kg of jasmine are used to make 100 kg of tea.
